Building a mobile app: from idea to the App Store
What an MVP is, how long it takes, whether you need separate iOS and Android apps, and how to plan the budget.
The biggest mistake with an app idea is trying to build everything at once. The budget runs out before a single user has seen it. A better path is an MVP.
What is an MVP?
A minimum viable product is the first version that solves one core problem and can go to real users. The goal is learning, not perfection: do people use it, and will they pay?
The steps
- Consultation — define the core user and problem.
- Prototype — a clickable design in 7 days you can show real people.
- Build — 2-week sprints, each ending in a working demo.
- Launch — App Store and Google Play publishing, analytics.
Separate iOS and Android apps?
For most projects, no. Modern cross-platform tech runs one codebase on both — roughly halving cost and time. We built BusTap, a real-time map app, this way.
Planning the budget
Our mobile apps start from 3 450 ₼. Price is driven mainly by screen count, backend complexity, payments and integrations. We recommend keeping part of the budget for fixes and updates after launch.
Developer accounts are opened in your name — the app and code belong to you.
